Background on the Water and Wastewater Master Plan

The Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan (MSP) is a strategic planning document that guides the planning, expansion, and management of Municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. This document serves as a tool to guide development of new water mains and sewers throughout the Municipality for many years into the future. The Master Plan also identifies key design policies that guide new development and ensure the safety and longevity of the municipal water and wastewater systems.

J.L Richards and Associates (JLR) has been retained by the Municipality of Mississippi Mills to undertake a comprehensive review and update of the Water and Wastewater Master Plan. JLR is working closely with municipal staff to complete this Master Plan and guide the Municipality in its servicing efforts.

Overall, this MSP represents a critical step forward in insuring the ongoing sustainability and resilience of the municipal water and wastewater systems, as well as the continued prosperity and growth of the Municipality.

Various opportunities for community engagement occurred throughout the TMP process. Public Information Centres (PIC) were held over the course of the study to solicit the public's feedback regarding key issues, concerns, solution alternatives and recommendations.
