35th Lanark & District Maple Syrup Producers First Tapping Ceremony – March 8, 2025

You are invited to the official First Tapping Ceremony and event in Lanark & District! Come celebrate the sweetest time of the year at Thompson's Sweet Retreat (1922 Clayton Road) on Saturday, March 8 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This event will mark the beginning of maple syrup season in our region.

This event starts at 11 a.m. with an introduction and presentation. The ceremonial first tapping of the season will take place at 11:30 a.m.

Live entertainment will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with Vicki Brittle, followed by Jim & Jr. from 12:15 to 2 p.m.

Lunch, coffee, and drinks will available to purchase, along with maple syrup, butter, sugar and – of course, taffy! Bring your winter gear for a winter hike on the walking trail, then warm up by the campfire. Sugarbush tours will also be available.

Bring the whole family! This will be a fantastic day full of old-fashioned family fun.
