Almonte District High School Raises More Than $1,200 for Champions 4 Kids Foundation

Press Release – Upper Canada District School Board
Students and staff at Almonte District High School demonstrated their generosity and school spirit by raising more than $1,200 for the Upper Canada District School Board’s charity, the Champions 4 Kids (C4K) Foundation. The funds were collected through two fundraisers held during the school year.
On December 18, as part of Holiday Spirit Week, a bingo game brought the school community together and raised $638.20. The fundraising efforts continued March 7 with the annual student-versus-teachers volleyball game, featuring players from the Senior Boys and Senior Girls varsity teams, which added another $600 to the total. The students came out victorious winning three sets to one, extending their winning streak to four years.
The Champions 4 Kids Foundation provides essential support to families in need, ensuring that children have access to sports, arts, and extracurricular activities. The foundation also helps cover minor medical expenses, such as eyeglasses, provides gas cards for parents with a child in the hospital, and supplies winter clothing for students.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to making a difference,” said Almonte District High School Principal Brenda Swrjeski. “These fundraisers not only support a great cause but also foster a strong sense of community. The generosity of our school will help give more children the chance to take part in activities that positively impact their lives.”
