Canada Day 2024 in Mississippi Mills
In Mississippi Mills, our Canada Day festivities are a two-day celebration!
Canada Day Eve in Pakenham (June 30)
We kick off festivities on Sunday, June 30 with Canada Day Eve in Pakenham.
Activities begin at 4:30 p.m. outside the Stewart Community Centre with the popular RBC Barbecue, celebrating their 25th anniversary.
At 6 p.m., enjoy bouncy castles, face painting by the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre and make a T-shirt with JB Arts.
The ever-popular Canada Day Eve Parade makes its way around the village, beginning at 7 p.m. Afterwards, stick around for the Pakenham Firefighters Association Barbecue at 8 p.m., and take in the sounds of Mike Ryan and Friends inside the community centre.
When it’s nearly dusk, be sure to grab a front row seat for an amazing fireworks show!
Pakenham Firefighters Canada Day Pancake Breakfast (July 1)
Get an early start to Canada Day by fuelling up at the Pakenham Firefighters Canada Day Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on Monday, July 1. Pancakes will be served up at the Station 2 Fire Hall (106 Jeanie Street).
Canada Day in Almonte (July 1)
Join us on July 1 for Day 2 of our Canada Day party in Almonte’s Gemmill Park!
The fun begins at 3:30 p.m. with bouncy castles, face painting by the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre, JB Arts T-shirt making, crafts, games, performances by unicyclist and juggler, Jean-Guy (4-7 p.m.) and satisfy your hunger with the food vendors on site.
Entertainment on the Gemmill Park Main Stage also kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and music will be pumping until dusk! Tina Collins serves as emcee. The lineup includes:

Opening Ceremonies take place on the main stage with a welcome by Mayor Christa Lowry and the flag raising by Almonte Legion Branch 240. Members of the Almonte Legion Pipe Band will also be in attendance.
