From Almonte Legion Branch 240
On June 15, 2024, we honoured Private George B. Monterville. His name is now added to the cenotaph, forevermore his name will be heard, year after year. Our community will acknowledge and honour Private Monterville alongside his peers, the other sons of our community who also paid the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War.

May we as citizens of Canada always stand up for the men and women of the Canadian armed forces during as well as after their service to our country.
May we never ever forget the sacrifices they made for us.
On behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240, we thank all who took part in the Commemoration.
