Downtown Almonte Construction Update - June 9, 2023

Construction in Downtown Almonte is rolling along. Please see below for the latest construction update, as of June 9, 2023. 

Phase E – Little Bridge Street

Cavanagh Construction has nearly completed the installation of the new sewer and watermain within Phase E – Little Bridge Street of the downtown core reconstruction project, with one final connection of watermain remaining. It is scheduled for this work to be completed on Monday June 12^th, 2023. Residents and businesses that will be affected by this watermain interruption have received written notice from Cavanagh.

Once all underground work has been completed, road crews will mobilize to Little Bridge Street to start road building and preparation for concrete sidewalk work. Remaining works for this phase include structural wall repairs along the Little Bridge sidewalk, installation of last soil cell for tree planting near the old town hall and concrete works. 

Phase F – Mill Street (Upper section)

Cavanagh Construction is nearing completion for concrete preparation on the upper section of Mill Street between Little Bridge Street and Bridge Street. In the coming weeks, concrete crews will be completing installation of new concrete sidewalks and curbs along the upper half of Mill Street.

The current schedule indicates the placement of asphalt on Mill Street on June 28^th.
