DOWNTOWN ALMONTE CONSTRUCTION 2023

 Construction Update

 Construction within Phase C – Brae Street, and Phase D High Street

Cavanagh Construction has completed all underground construction within Phase C – Brae Street of the downtown core reconstruction project.  Surface works have been completed for both Phase C – Brae Street and Phase D - High Street, final landscaping including trees and plantings to be completed this summer.  A final layer of asphalt will be placed once the remaining phases have been completed.

Phase E – Little Bridge Street

Cavanagh Construction is nearing completion of the underground portion of Phase E – Little Bridge Street of the downtown core reconstruction project, with approximately 85% of the sewer and watermain work completed.  The last section of Phase E involves work within Bridge Street. Traffic will be temporarily realigned to allow for work to be completed on Bridge Street.  It is expected that the underground work will be completed by May 26^th, 2023. Sidewalk crews will mobilize once underground work is completed.

 Phase F – Mill Street (Upper section)

Cavanagh Construction will commence work on the final phase of the downtown core reconstruction project on Tuesday May 23^rd, 2023, with a road closure from Little Bridge Street to Bridge Street along Mill Street. Sidewalks will remain open for access to businesses and residences. This work includes replacement of existing sidewalk, road asphalt and new landscaping areas for trees and plantings. This work is expected to be completed by the end of June.
