From the Office of the Mayor - Fire on Clayton Road

Statement from the Office of the Mayor – July 9, 2023

At approximately 9 a.m. this morning, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) responded to a silo fire on Clayton Road.

Fire Chief Williams shared with me that the incident was brought under control and the MMFD were able to leave the scene by about noon.  In part, the swift response was thanks to area farmers who assembled quickly and assisted as directed by the MMFD.  

On behalf of Council and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, I would like to thank Chief Williams, the MMFD and in particular the farming community for their response.  

We are so fortunate to have friends and neighbours that respond in emergency situations like today.  Thank you again to the MMFD and the farming community.
