From the Office of the Mayor - In Memory of Bruce Monteith

It is with sadness that I share that Bruce Monteith, former Ramsay Councillor, passed on Thursday, July 6th, 2023. 

From 1998-2003 Mr. Monteith served as a Ramsay Ward Councillor, and from 2000-2003 represented Mississippi Mills at Lanark County Council. Prior to amalgamation, he served as the Chief Building Official.

Mr. Monteith was a dedicated contributor to the community who was well-known for his beautiful singing voice.   In 2014 the Upper Canada District School Board recognized him with a Diamond Award for his extensive work with Champions for Kids.

As a past member of Council, flags at all municipal facilities will be lowered in Mr. Monteith’s honour. Please keep Bruce’s partner, Anne McRae, and the family in your thoughts and prayers during this solemn time.
