Honouring Our Veterans Banners in Mississippi Mills

Over the spring and summer, an “Honour Our Veterans” Banner Committee met and developed a process to create and display Veteran banners in our community of Mississippi Mills to recognize and honour our Veterans.

It was decided to start small with a few banners this fall. Ten banners will be installed this week and displayed between the Almonte Cenotaph and the Almonte Legion until November 12.

The “Honour Our Veterans” Banner program will honour Canadian Veterans who have who resided or currently reside in Mississippi Mills, and those Veterans who have a tie or close connection to Mississippi Mills.

More information will be forthcoming regarding further details and the purchase of additional Veteran banners for installation in the fall of 2025.

Committee members included Mary Rozenberg, Peggy Byrne, Brian Leonard, Bill Lawrence, John Dalgity, Mike Guthrie, Paul Laforce, Matt Mould and Pat Rushton.
