Mosaic Unveiling Community Event September 30th

Join us at the unveiling event to the new Mosaic in the Almonte Old Town Hall Garden Next Thursday evening September 30th 6:00PM. Everyone is welcome!

The Countdown Public Art Project is a province-wide initiative that creates outdoor monuments in public spaces to honour all survivors of gender based violence and to imagine, or count down to, a world without gender-based violence. The project centres on inclusivity and acknowledges all people who have experienced violence in all capacities.

The purpose of this mosaic is to increase public understanding of gender based violence; offer a welcoming space for peace, gathering, reflection and remembrance of those who have been affected; and to ensure conversations that haven’t been happening, happen. The art installation is ensuring the victims and survivors of violence will be remembered for years to come by providing the community with a place to gather and remember them.
