New Location for Summer Solstice Celebration – June 20, 2024
Due to the extreme heat in the forecast, the Summer Solstice Celebration originally to be held in Riverfront Park on Thursday, June 20 will now take place at the John Levi Community Centre.
Set for 6 to 9 p.m., this National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration is open to everyone in the community and will include an Indigenous ceremony, food, music, jingle dancing, Algonquin craft making, Inuit games and more.
The barbecue, entertainment and games will take place outside and crafts will be done inside the arena. In the event of inclement weather, everything will move to the Upper Hall.
Learn about the dance, music, food and rituals of Indigenous peoples and have fun celebrating the longest day of the year together.
This event is brought to you by Mississippi Mills All My Relations, the Government of Canada and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
