“The cloud” lets us safely store photos, videos, documents, and so much more, without the worry of losing a physical device! However, it can be tricky to adapt to this new technology. In this 60-minute workshop, you’ll learn:
-
What is the cloud, and what is Google Drive?
-
How to navigate Google Drive
-
How to upload and store photos, videos, and other files in Google Drive for free
-
How to easily create, share, and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows
You’ll work hands-on with a computer and follow along with others, learning new skills as you go! No prior knowledge required – this course is intended for adults who are new to Google Drive.

National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21
National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place each year on June 21 each year, and is dedicated to celebrating the rich diversity, history, resilience, and culture of Indigenous Peoples.
Over 1.8 million people in Canada identify as First Nations, Inuit, and Métis, each with unique traditions, cultures, and languages spoken. Click here to browse & reserve from MMPL’s tagged Indigenous authored & illustrated collection or visit your library branch to explore!
Much of Mississippi Mills Public Library’s local heritage collection has a historical colonial perspective. MMPL recognizes that local history collections need to be developed to recognize all peoples who live or have lived in the library’s community and territory. MMPL collections strive to reflect respect for, and reconciliation with, Indigenous people. MMPL continues to work towards addressing and meeting this goal.
This Mississippi Mills Public Library webpage and Mississippi Mills All My Relations website can lead you to many online indigenous learning resources. We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people.
Author Event – June 27
