In response to Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (“IESO”) Long-Term Capacity Procurement, Walker BESS 4 Inc. is constructing the Almonte BESS Project, a lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
The Almonte BESS Project will be located at 6299 County Road 29, Mississippi Mills, ON, K0A 1A0, and will provide up to 4.999 Mega-Watt (MW), providing much-needed electricity system reliability to Ontario.
Walker BESS 4 Limited Partnership assigned this project to Walker BESS 4 Inc., a special-purpose entity created by Compass Greenfield Development Inc. to develop this project. More details on the IESO’s Long-Term Capacity Procurement are available online at: https://www.ieso.ca/en/Sector-Participants/Resource-Acquisition-and-Contracts/Long-Term-RFP-and-Expedited-Process.
This meeting forms part of our community and Indigenous engagement plan. Its purpose is to answer any questions before the start of construction. To accomplish this, we are inviting local landowners, municipalities, and Indigenous communities to our public meeting to discuss the project as it approaches construction.
