Pride Flag Raising at Mississippi Valley Textile Museum – June 1, 2024
The Pride Flag will be raised at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum on Saturday, June 1 at 1 p.m.
The flag raising will be held in conjunction with Lanark County Wide Pride Committee’s Drive-Out Pride Parade festivities throughout the county. The parade leaves from Almonte and will travel to Carleton Place and Smiths Falls for flag raisings, continuing on to the Perth parade at 3:30 p.m., beginning at the Stewart School. It will be followed by a Community Fair in Last Duel Park at 4:30 p.m.
This year, the Lanark County Wide Pride Committee, a collaboration of Pride in Mississippi Mills, Carleton Place Pride, Smiths Falls Pride and Queer Connection Lanark chose ‘Free to Be…You & Me’ as the theme of Pride Month.
June is Pride Month, which was proclaimed by Mississippi Mills Council on May 21.
