Princess Street Reconstruction Underway

The renewal of Princess Street in Almonte began on Monday, July 24. The nearly $1.5 million project is being undertaken by Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited and is anticipated to be completed this construction season.

Works include the replacement of watermain, sewers and services to property line, road reconstruction, curbs and sidewalks. The project was identified in the 2018 Water and Wastewater Master Plan and approved in the 2023 Budget.

The Municipal right-of-way will need to be excavated up to the property line on both sides of the street to complete service replacements. For any disturbed area within the Municipal right-of-way, the Municipality will reinstate asphalt driveways, concrete or interlock walkway and all other areas will be reinstated with grass.

Street closure and detour signage is in place.
