Public Notice – 2025 Federal Election
The next federal election is set for Monday, April 28.
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is not involved with this election. For information or if you have questions on where to vote, reach out to Elections Canada – www.elections.ca.
While not associated with the election, the Municipality’s Election Signs By-law 18-21 regulates where election signs can be placed. This bylaw has been circulated to all political parties in the riding to follow.
The bylaw states that candidates may not place signs on municipally owned public property. Election signs are permitted on private property. Elections signs may also be placed in municipal road allowances, except in the following locations:
-
Ward of Almonte
-
Hamlets of Blakeney, Appleton, Clayton and Pakenham
-
Registered plans of subdivision
The Municipality will be monitoring this on a complaint-driven basis and candidates will be given a certain amount of time to remove signs.
For boundary maps or if you believe signs have been placed incorrectly, contact the Clerks Department at clerk@mississippimills.ca.
Reminder: Damaging or removing election signs is a crime under the Criminal Code and Elections Canada Act. If you see suspicious activity or vandalism, call the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
