Section of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail Closed for Maintenance October 2-4
Press Release – Lanark County
A section of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT) will be closed from Wednesday, October 2 to Friday, October 4 to allow for repairs to an existing concrete culvert that passes under the trail.
“Lanark County has retained Cavanagh Construction to conduct repairs on a concrete culvert south of Drummond Road in Mississippi Mills on the OVRT,” explained Public Works Manager Sean Derouin.
A signed detour route will be in place, beginning at Ramsay Concession 8 and concluding on Drummond Road.
The opening of the OVRT in Lanark County has created a transportation corridor for pedestrians, cyclists, four-wheelers and snowmobilers travelling from Sturgess Road (just north of Smiths Falls) to Arnprior and beyond. With multi-purpose, year-round use, the OVRT connects three of Lanark County’s prettiest towns.
