Spring Beautification Efforts in the Municipality

The Beautification Department within the Municipality of Mississippi Mills has been busy with beautification efforts this spring to ensure plantings in the Municipality look their best.

We’d like to thank Ramsay Creek, who has been working in partnership with the Municipality, and to recognize their work in helping beautify our community, including planting beds , including the area around the Almonte gateway sign and the beautiful hanging baskets, which were installed this week.

The efforts of our local horticultural societies are also greatly appreciated. Pakenham Horticultural Society maintains the flower barrels in Pakenham and the Almonte & District Horticultural Society manages various flower beds and planters within Almonte.  Special thanks to Lanark County Support Services for planting our message board flower boxes in Appleton and Blakeney, as well as the residents of Clayton for plantings at the Clayton Bridge & Boat Launch; and residents of Appleton for plantings at the Appleton Bridge.

Thank you also to Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited (TCCL) and Exact Landscapes for their partnership in maintaining the downtown garden beds. As part of TCCL’s contract for the renewal of the downtown core, they are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the plantings installed for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. They are on site this week and next, working their magic on the planting beds along Mill Street to enhance our stunning downtown core this year and next.
