What Does Pride Mean to You?
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is committed to promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive community that values and embraces the characteristics that make each of us unique. Having a sense of belonging is critical to our own success and our community’s success. No matter our gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation, we should all feel supported, safe and welcome in Mississippi Mills.
Every June, we celebrate Pride to recognize the value and diversity that two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer (or questioning) intersex, and asexual (2SLGBTQIA+) communities bring to the municipality. To celebrate Pride month, the municipality is launching the “What Does Pride Mean to You?” campaign.
As June approaches, we feel it’s a time for people from all walks of life to think about what it means to be genuinely accepting or accepted, and reflect on the peaceful, positive effect this can have on our community! So we want to hear from you! From now until June 13th, share your thoughts about what Pride means to you – and have your thoughts featured on a community banner that will be displayed at the Municipal Office.
Community members are encouraged to share what pride means to them by filling out the Pride Form and submitting it back to the municipality. We would like to remind everyone that all comments will remain anonymous throughout the campaign.
