Winter Storm Preparedness (1)
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch for our region, to begin late Tuesday, January 9 and into Wednesday, January 10.
Ten to 20 centimetres of snow is forecasted, along with a few hours of freezing rain and ice pellets which will make for hazardous travel conditions.
In anticipation of the first major storm of the season, Public Works staff are ready to carry out winter operations. Be advised, overnight parking restrictions are in effect and on-street parking is not permitted overnight between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Please leave the streets clear for our Public Works crew.
If required, updates on impacts to services will be posted on the municipal website and Facebook page. In the event of an emergency or extended power outage, municipal updates are provided on Lake 88, Oldies 107.7 and Valley Heritage Radio.
Do you have a 72-hour emergency kit? Ensure your devices are charged and flashlights have working batteries. For tips to be prepared and items to include in your emergency kit, visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/be-prepared-emergency.
