Pakenham Santa Claus Parade

Saturday, December 6 at 1 pm

Join us in the charming village of Pakenham for a delightful afternoon parade. Enjoy a variety of fun and festive floats, including beautiful horses from local farms!

The Pakenham Parade route:

  • Departs from the Stewart Community Centre (112 MacFarlane St.) to Jeanie St. (toward the fire station)

  • Turns right onto Hwy 29

  • Turns right on Renfrew St. leading to MacFarlane St.

  • Continues back to the Community Centre and loops around twice!

Community Spirit

The Pakenham & District Civitan Club will be collecting food and cash donations for the Lanark County Food Bank - The Hunger Stop during the parade, so bring your non-perishable food items!

The Pakenham & District Civitan Club will also be serving free hot dogs and hot chocolate after the parade in the upper hall of the Stewart Community Centre so come in and warm up.

Bring your skates and enjoy free public skating from 1 - 4 p.m. courtesy of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills!

Entering a Float

Pre-registration is not required, however, it's appreciated to let us know in advance to expect you. Please complete the form

Floats must arrive by 12:15pm at the latest to ensure placement in the parade. Floats must enter via Jessie St. Jeanie St. will be closed to incoming traffic. People dropping off float participants can come in via Jessie St. and leave via Jeanie St. Floats will be lined up in the parking lot of the Stewart Community Centre. Please check-in with staff when you arrive, staff will be located in the parking lot.

If you are coming with animals, please proceed to Margaret Street, near the ball diamond, behind the arena. You will be led up to the parade route when it's time.

Rules

  • Absolutely no throwing candy or other objects, including flyers, from floats

  • Walking entries should be careful to distance from the spectators

  • Christmas Music is strongly encouraged

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help ensure the parade runs smoothly and safely.
Volunteer duties: to provide safety control at intersections — safety vests will be provided.

Please note: The arena and parking lot will only be accessed via Jessie St. from 12 noon - 1 p.m. The access will be for floats and dropping off parade participants only. Cars dropping off parade participants can exit via Jeanie St. The area will be closed to through traffic during this time. The parking lot is reserved for float parking only. Please avoid the area.
