Deputy Chief of Lanark County Paramedic Service Wins Prestigious Forty Under Forty Award
Press Release – Mississippi River Health Alliance
On Friday, June 21, at Hilton Lac-Leamy, Lanark County Paramedic Service (LCPS) Deputy Chief Breanne Lapointe received one of the region’s most sought-after business awards for individuals under the age of 40.
The Top Forty Under 40 award, supported by the Ottawa Business Journal, the Ottawa Board of Trade, and the Telfer School of Management, recognizes recipients based on their business accomplishments, professional experience, and community involvement.
The competition was fierce this year, with 163 nominations received. Each nominee was assessed and ranked by a four-member selection committee, including Jennifer Cross of MARANT Construction, Jeffrey Johnson of BDO, Joelle Hall from Richardson Wealth, and Gregory Richards of Telfer EMBA. Ottawa Business Journal publisher Michael Curran chaired the committee with assistance from Robert Rheaume of CCRS Advisory Services Inc. The nominations were whittled down to 88 finalists, and the top 40 were chosen based on their achievements.
Greg Richards, vice-dean of graduate professional programs at the Telfer School of Management, said, “I am thrilled to see the wonderful diversity in this year’s Forty Under 40 recipients. We have, for example, entrepreneurs in health care, finance, construction, and social services. In addition, we’ve noted exceptional contributions from leaders in established businesses that include high-tech, retail, and community services.”
Breanne’s family and work colleagues were on hand at Hilton Lac Leamy to celebrate her tremendous achievement, including LCPS Chief Travis Mellema.
“Under Breanne’s guidance, our paramedic service has achieved significant milestones in operational efficiency, patient care, and community outreach," Mellema said. "We are incredibly proud of her for receiving this well-deserved recognition and appreciate the selection committee’s awareness of the crucial role our emergency and community services play in supporting the overall well-being of our local communities.”
