Final Draft of 2024 Transportation Master Plan Available for Review

The final draft of the 2024 Mississippi Mills Transportation Master Plan will be considered by Council on August 13, 2024.

The plan reflects a proactive and comprehensive approach to planning a multi-modal transportation system that will serve the Municipality through to 2048 and was included as part of the Municipality’s MM2048 initiative.

It is a roadmap for future planning decisions and capital investments while being used to align the goals and necessities of staff, stakeholders and decision makers under a comprehensive community vision.

Through studies, research and two public information centres, the plan addresses:

• Contemporary themes and priorities to incorporate into Official Plan and relevant policy documents (including the “Complete Streets” philosophy and environmental stewardship).

• The growth and evolution of active transportation as a main mode of transportation.

• Strategic expansion of the road network to manage anticipated growth.

• Encourages and supports the resurgence of transit and ridesharing/carpooling opportunities.

• Strategies surrounding equity, inclusivity, accessibility; and more.
