Lanark Community Alliance Seeking New Advisory Council and Board Members

Press Release – Lanark Community Alliance

The Lanark Community Alliance (LCA) represents a coming together of independent, non-profit community agencies united in their mission to improve the lives of those they serve in Lanark County. And we want members of those communities to join us at the table.

Linda McGreevy is a great example. Linda served on the Carebridge Community Support Board of Directors for eight years. Now, she is part of the Lanark Community Alliance Advisory Council. An avid volunteer, Linda is passionate about senior care and wants to make a difference.

“The Lanark Community Alliance Advisory Council is made up of people who are served by the Alliance – including seniors in our region. I’m excited to bring my professional healthcare knowledge as well as my experiences as a senior to the table. Together, we can make our community even better!”

Recruitment is now underway for additional members for the LCA Advisory Council.

“The most important voices are those of the people we serve and we want to hear from you,” explains Board Chair Jean Knowles. “We know that communities thrive when everyone feels valued and respected and has the opportunity to live with dignity and achieve their full potential. Help us to ensure our services are the very best they can be.”

LCA is also recruiting for the Alliance Board of Directors, which provides governance oversight for both Community Living Association Lanark and Carebridge Community Support. The Board is responsible for key areas such as strategic planning, quality, CEO oversight and financial stewardship. It fosters diversity and broad community representation, including lived and living experience.

“Board members bring a variety of skills to the table,” explains CEO Robert Eves. “More importantly, they bring a passion for improving care in our region. On average, the time requirement is approximately five to 10 hours per month. We are looking for people who want to make a real difference in their community. If you have time to volunteer, we’d love to chat.”
