Lanark County Public Notice – Activation of Reduced Load Period

In accordance with The Corporation of the County of Lanark By-law #99-07, reduced load restrictions (five tonnes per axle) will be in force on designated county roads effective Monday, March 10, 2025.
This restriction will only apply on those county roads that are posted with appropriate signs.
The list of exceptions:
- County Road 1
- County Road 7B
- County Road 9A
- County Road 10 (from intersection with County Road 1 in Perth to St. John Catholic High School)
- County Road 12 (from intersection with County Road 511 to 7th Concession of Lanark)
- County Road 16 (Wolf Grove Road)
- County Road 16A (Bridge Street, Martin Street South, Perth Street and Queen Street – all within the limits of the Town of Almonte)
- County Road 29
- County Road 43
- County Road 49
- County Road 511

It is an offence, under section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act, to transport loads in excess of five tonnes per axle on roads where reduced loads are in effect.
The restriction is removed when the chance of road damage has diminished.
