A public meeting will be held in hybrid format via Zoom on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 6 p.m. to consider a proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13.
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has received the following zoning by-law amendment request (details below).
File Number: D14-MM5-25

Affected lands: All lands within the urban settlement area of Almonte (no map attached)
Purpose and intent of the zoning by-law amendment: As part of the Municipality’s Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) agreement with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the proposed zoning by-law amendment seeks to amend Zoning By-law #11-83 to permit four units as-of-right per residential lot within areas of Almonte. The specific areas under consideration are still being finalized and will be shared with the public as part of the upcoming consultation process.
This amendment proposes to build on the provisions of the More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 and subsequent provincial legislation, which currently allows three units as-of-right per residential lot across Ontario.
