Notice of Public Consultation – Lanark County Aggregate Resource Master Plan and Growth Management Strategy

The County of Lanark is undertaking two major studies that will impact long term land use planning within the county.

The related reports are currently available in a draft form for review and comment. They contain background information and direction that may inform future updates of the Lanark County Official Plan. The Aggregate Resources Master Plan (ARMP) is the first of its kind for Lanark County. The Growth Management Strategy is a 5-year update.

SUBMITTING FEEDBACK: You can provide feedback on the draft reports by emailing the Planning Manager, Mike Dwyer at mdwyer@lanarkcounty.ca. You can also submit written comments to his attention at 99 Christie Lake Road, Perth ON K7H 3C6. Mike can also be reached at 613-267-4200 ext. 1520. Feedback should be submitted by March 31, 2025.

AGGREGATE OPEN HOUSE: Given that aggregate resource mapping has not previously been part of Lanark County’s Official Plan, an open house will be held to allow residents and industry stakeholders to hear about the draft ARMP and how it could potentially impact future land use planning and development reviews. The open house will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 6-8 p.m. in the Lanark Council Chambers at 99 Christie Lake Road, Perth. An introductory presentation will be given at 6:15 p.m.

The lead project consultant and Planning Manager will be available to answer questions and receive feedback.

Please note: the Aggregate Open House is related to the regional issue of aggregate resource planning and designation. Specific ongoing applications will not be the focus of this open house. Those files have separate processes and public consultation. We ask that you kindly respect this division of files and process.
