Reorganizations and Additions at the Mississippi Mills Public Library (1)
Best wishes to Meaghan Davies, our Children’s Librarian, on your maternity leave!
Meaghan is an engaging and integral part of the Mississippi Mills Public Library (MMPL) team. Staff and patrons will miss Meaghan’s enthusiasm and creativity, her assistance skills and her well-organized, efficiency while she is on leave.
Have fun, Meaghan! See you and the new family member soon at baby time!
Meaghan’s last day – until she’s back from maternity leave – is Friday, January 12. Plenty of time to drop by to wish her well!
Welcome, Sarah Reside!
Sarah is back with MMPL – this time as a Librarian Assistant. Sarah will host storytimes and baby time in Meaghan’s stead, and she’ll help with children’s, teen and adult programming. You’ll see Sarah mainly at the Almonte front desk. (For those who remember, in the past, Sarah was a summer programming employee and has often helped at the front desk when needed over the years.)
This New Year brings quite a few new, exciting shifts and challenges at the library. Yet, as always, MMPL’s mission remains “to inspire lifelong learning, provide equitable access to information, advance knowledge and strengthen our community.” MMPL’s vision is an informed, engaged, creative & connected community.

In late August 2022, Robert and his wife Pat headed west. Their main objective was to visit Olympic National Park, follow the Pacific Coast Highway south to California and see Monument Valley. On the way they also visited the Rockies, Redwood National and State Parks along Avenue of the Giants, San Francisco, Big Sur, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, and Dead Horse Point State Park. They travelled over 20,000 kms in about two months in their truck camper and saw some amazing landscapes.
