This week’s Budget Spotlight shines on. Mississippi Mills.

The Municipality will begin sidewalk replacement works in Almonte this week. Construction is anticipated to begin September 19 or shortly afterward.

Mississippi Mills Council proclaimed September as Big Brothers Big Sisters Month in the Municipality at their September 10 meeting. In addition, September 18 was declared Big Brothers Big Sisters Day and along with this proclamation, Almonte Old Town Hall and the falls will be lit in teal for the week of September 15-20.

Mississippi Mills is a thriving community of small business owners and family-run businesses. These entrepreneurs are the engine of our local economy and we want to show them they’re appreciated!.

For nearly a year and a half, we’ve been working on a large project called MM2048. This project touches nearly every municipal service and department, from roads to childcare, water and wastewater, recreation, to economic development and quality of life and everything in between. 

Fire Chief Mike Williams is calling on all Mississippi Mills residents to test their smoke alarms on September 28 as part of Test Your Smoke Alarm Day. Be prepared to be Saved by the Beep with a working smoke alarm – it is your best chance to keep you and your family safe in the event of a fire.

TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held virtually via Zoom on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to consider a proposed Minor Variance application under Section 45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13.

Council and Committee of the Whole will hold their regular meetings on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Regular session is scheduled to start at 6:00 p. m. , followed by Committee of the Whole.
