Beginning in 2020, the three Municipalities of Beckwith, Carleton Place and Mississippi Mills have been in discussions with regards to the Joint Recreation Cost Sharing Agreement to make it fair for all parties involved. In a letter dated October 22, 2021 the Council of The Town of Carleton Place wrote to the Mayor of Mississippi Mills stating “That the Town of Carleton Place is terminating the Recreation and Pool components of the Howard Allan Cost Sharing Agreement”.

At a press conference Friday afternoon Premier Ford and Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario Kieran Moore announced new gathering and facility capacity limits taking effect Sunday December 19th. The Municipality will be contacting user groups effected by these changes.

With the holiday season upon us, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department would like to highlight that fire safety during this time of the year is one of our greatest concerns. Statistics show that one in three fire deaths occur during the months of November, December, and January.
