Mississippi Mills is undertaking a large project called MM2048 that involves virtually every service and department. We’re looking at everything from roads to childcare to water and wastewater to recreation to festivals and events to economic development to quality of life and everything in between, all at the same time.
Please be advised that the parking lot entrance to the Almonte Old Town Hall will be reduced to one lane tomorrow (May 16th) due to construction related activities. Flagstaff will be present to direct traffic through the construction area and into the parking lot.

High school students looking to learn more about working in the healthcare field may want to check out the week-long Junior Volunteer Summer Program at the Almonte General Hospital and Fairview Manor. The program provides an opportunity to work with a number of healthcare professionals in both hospital and long-term care settings.

May 10, 2023 — This FLOOD WARNING statement is an update to the Flood Warning issued for areas along the Lower Ottawa River (Arnprior to Hawkesbury) on May 2nd, 2023. Water levels along the main stem of the Ottawa River reached peak levels on May 5th and 6th due to above normal snow melt in the upper region of the basin this spring, combined with large regional rain events that occurred over several days in late April and early May.
More than 40 firefighters from Mississippi Mills, Drummond/North Elmsley Tay Valley, North Algona, Perth, Rideau Lakes, Russell and South Frontenac recently received grain entrapment rescue training, which will enable them to respond more effectively to emergencies involving grain bins, silos, trailers and buggies. The training was conducted by instructors from the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA).
